a little get away never hurt anyone…

December 31, 2013celebrations, vacation

well don’t ask sam that.  he had issues with me when we returned.  our trip to fredericksburg for our fifth anniversary was such a treat!  we joked about how  we might have to write notes down to keep the conversation going.  we didn’t realize how much we could talk with out getting interrupted!

it was great to stop for many different types of bbq along the way.  we got to walk downtown in the afternoon before it got too busy.  daddy let me do a little shopping, mainly window. 🙂  we enjoyed a quiet dinner and christmas lights in town.   before we left the next day we stopped by  to visit colleen and jacob.  such a nice treat!  thank you to gramps and granny for keeping the boys and to my aunt colleen for finding this cute little place.

my husband of  f i v e  years…

30238

who knew how much this day, this moment would really change my life.

they say time flies when you are having fun.  this really has flown by…

year 1 – we bought a house.

year 2 – jack anthony made us parents

year 3-  continued to learn more about each other and grow spiritually together

year 4 – samuel fulton made us a family of 4.

year 5 –  i can hardly wait!

DSC_3420

thank you richard for these first  f i v e  wonderful years.  i can’t thank god enough for sending you to be my husband.  we have grown so much and have so much more to learn about each other.  you have seen me at my worst and possibly my best and you are still at my side.   i admire your hard work you put in day after day for our family, your sweet way of communication throughout our busy work weeks.  {leaving creative notes like k-cups and bananas in the shape of a smile to greet me in the morning} you know how to keep me smiling. your yummy dinners that have left me handing over dinner time to you… you constantly give of yourself! our boys are so in love with you.  what an amazing person to call my husband of   f i v e  years.  happy anniversary love 🙂  i love you!

December 16, 2013kids

it is to play with a best friend…

today we were finally able to have a play date.  but not just any play date,  we made it a pre-school style play date.  we did all things with the letter “p.”

pizza. pallet. pandas. penguins. popcorn. polar express!   we didn’t realize how many “p” things we could find around us 🙂

jack, you and sienna were cute as always.

so were jude and samuel.

December 12, 2013kids

sometimes, i really want to do just that.

last weekend, we pulled all the boxes down from the attic and spent a very cold day decorating our house for christmas.  daddy braved the cold and hung all the lights outside.  it was so much fun to watch you jack, you got excited about every decoration we got out.  at the end of the day, you told me your favorite part of the day was decorating for christmas.

samuel, you are a hoot.  too busy to stay still for any pictures these days… you want to be wherever jack is and you expect to do everything he does too.  you were so excited to see the lights on the house!

oh how we can’t wait to celebrate this christmas with you two.  you are both at such fun ages!  this year we have all the shopping behind us already.   we have nothing to do except get the house ready, bake and   p l a y   oh and enjoy a lot of christmas music throughout it all.

good thing you two love music!

mornings with jack…

December 12, 2013kids

“the garbage truck comes today?”   is the question i hear almost every morning he crawls in my bed.  it’s almost as exciting as christmas for him!  on “garbage truck day” he will wait at the window for forever…

thanksgiving 2013

December 11, 2013celebrations, kids, vacation

missouri style. it was a first for us.  traveling on a holiday and traveling with  t w o  kids on an airplane.  luckily we have great travelers…   we spent thanksgiving at aunt kindles.  it was so wonderful!  she picked us up at the airport, brought us to her house and continued to make her whole spread of thanksgiving day goodies.   yum!  we stayed till the following Monday, which gave us plenty of time to visit, enjoy our babies, a very cold fightin’ texas aggie football game and even some shopping 🙂   we obviously were enjoying our time.  i barely pulled my camera out.

yes we traveled “double leash” style.  it worked for us.  they loved it.  jack, you even held your own “tail”  as you called it.

oh such yummy food!  samuel this was your first thanksgiving to really partake in all the goodness.  you couldn’t believe all that was before your eyes.  you really just liked throwing it around.  but you were a big fan of the sweet potato crunch.  good taste buds my man.

IMG_5759

first time black Friday shopping with the sister. i must say,  i did an excellent job holding a spot for her in line. oh such good times!

IMG_5767

oh how we all enjoyed our time with jude!  he entertains us all.
