another day with thomas

September 29, 2014celebrations, kids

can this be one of our traditions?  i guess while you two are little 🙂  it was our second year to go spend a day out with thomas!  we headed out a little later this year and grabbed some kolaches along the way.  oh you boys have good taste!

it seemed like a lot longer of a drive this year or maybe samuel you are a little louder 🙂  you both fell asleep the last stretch and awoke just in time to have a picnic in the back of the car.

samuel, you were really excited to see every picture of thomas and his friends.  you also loved dancing to the music… right where the speakers were.   you kept asking  “one more, one more.”

we did it all.  we played with trains, got temporary tattoos, stamps, played in a bouncy house train, saw sir tompham hatt, watched a magic show, listen to some great music and took a picture with thomas!  we did all of this knowing we probably weren’t going to actually get to ride on the train, after multiple attempts at the sold out ticket booth.

and you two were excited through it all!

and then daddy tried one more time for tickets to ride on thomas.  we were smiling bigger than the kids when someone didn’t show up for their train tickets.  so we all ran to the train before it left…

we had a really great day together.   samuel had enough pictures so i stopped..

celebrate 4!

September 29, 2014kids

for the actual  b i r t h d a y  we started off with mass.   it was a school mass so the children’s choir was so perfect for this celebration.   it was beautiful as always.  you were excited afterwards to “play with the trains”  during my familia meeting.   after that we headed over to daddy’s office to eat our lunch there.   you were set on having lunch for your birthday at daddy’s office.

afterwards, we headed over to the mall.  you and samuel got some play time while we waited to pick up your birthday cake.   you had asked the night before if i could make you…

“a birthday cake with a garbage truck on it and blue and white polka dots.  oh and chocolate chips!”

oh sweet boy… i don’t know if i could make it…but i could buy it 🙂  i promise a homemade cake for you and samuel’s birthday party!

it was your very first cookie cake 🙂   and there was plenty to take over to dana’s the next day.

that evening the four year old requested macaroni and cheese and a hamburger.  he played with his new magna doodle and we watched the lego movie that daddy picked up on his way home.   before falling asleep jack,  you told me your favorite part of the day was coming home and having cake.

thank you for reminding me daily that it’s the little things that mean the most.

love you birthday boy!

maybe i’m in a little denial.   is that why it’s taken me a week to get on here and write up that my baby is four?!   i am so, so grateful that i have gotten to spend almost every day for the last four years with you 🙂  all the million questions you ask, i’m so happy you can ask me and daddy!   we sure are the luckiest.

jack, at  f o u r  years old.  you are so precious.  still just as cuddly as the day you were born.  you love your brother, cousins and bestfriends.  you have a new love/obsession for football.   you think different clothing and shoes make you fast or slow.  you change at least two times a day and always ask…

“you wanna see how fast i can go?”

you love playing cars, football, waiting for the trash truck, mowing with daddy, playing with play dough and coloring.   you make the cutest happy faces.  you also love drawing mike wazowski.  you are pretty good at that too!  you love heb and car carts and free cookies.   your favorite foods are chicken nuggets, hamburgers and pizza as well as any sweet you can think of 🙂 you also love singing and dancing.

you are so happy to be four!

“hi how are you?”

September 4, 2014field trip, friends

these little ones had the museum all to themselves today…

the vet clinic was a hit!   we couldn’t get enough of them loving on these little animals. they couldn’t get enough of shoving the little animals into their kennels.  who knew closing kennel doors could be so fun! 🙂

jack, you made me so happy today.   you were such a good example for the little ones.  we had so much fun finding new things there today.   on the way home i asked you what your favorite part of the museum was.  you said “going on the elevators.”  i said “are you serious?! out of all we did at the museum?”  you sweetly said “well we did do that at the museum!”   🙂

it was such a fun day!   i can’t believe how fast a year goes by.  it was so precious to watch jude and all his excitement that day.  later that day i messaged nadia, thanking her for a wonderful day and i hope she enjoyed that sweet sleeping baby on her…  she said that was the highlight of her day.   “he had too much and came to me for rest!  talk about learning about God through our kids…”

DSC_0041

well it’s official!   gramps and granny got new neighbors…. the best kind too!  family 🙂  we kicked off labor day weekend with a few football scrimmages and then went out to bc to welcome dana and mike into their home.  we had a good ol’ back yard bbq,  complete with banana pudding for dessert.   so bummed i didn’t get a picture, it was pretty amazing.  i’ll just have to make it again just to take a picture you know 😉

an extra reason to love the fall season,  little boys in football jersey’s …

the boys loved playing a little ball with their gramps.   i’m not sure anyone caught the ball but they sure loved showing him their tricks.

and you know when you can’t always catch the ball out there… just hop on a four wheeler 😉

looking forward to many more memories here knowing cousins are just down the road.
