another day with thomas

September 29, 2014celebrations, kids

can this be one of our traditions?  i guess while you two are little 🙂  it was our second year to go spend a day out with thomas!  we headed out a little later this year and grabbed some kolaches along the way.  oh you boys have good taste!

it seemed like a lot longer of a drive this year or maybe samuel you are a little louder 🙂  you both fell asleep the last stretch and awoke just in time to have a picnic in the back of the car.

samuel, you were really excited to see every picture of thomas and his friends.  you also loved dancing to the music… right where the speakers were.   you kept asking  “one more, one more.”

we did it all.  we played with trains, got temporary tattoos, stamps, played in a bouncy house train, saw sir tompham hatt, watched a magic show, listen to some great music and took a picture with thomas!  we did all of this knowing we probably weren’t going to actually get to ride on the train, after multiple attempts at the sold out ticket booth.

and you two were excited through it all!

and then daddy tried one more time for tickets to ride on thomas.  we were smiling bigger than the kids when someone didn’t show up for their train tickets.  so we all ran to the train before it left…

celebrate 4!

September 29, 2014kids

for the actual  b i r t h d a y  we started off with mass.   it was a school mass so the children’s choir was so perfect for this celebration.   it was beautiful as always.  you were excited afterwards to “play with the trains”  during my familia meeting.   after that we headed over to daddy’s office to eat our lunch there.   you were set on having lunch for your birthday at daddy’s office.

afterwards, we headed over to the mall.  you and samuel got some play time while we waited to pick up your birthday cake.   you had asked the night before if i could make you…

“a birthday cake with a garbage truck on it and blue and white polka dots.  oh and chocolate chips!”

oh sweet boy… i don’t know if i could make it…but i could buy it 🙂  i promise a homemade cake for you and samuel’s birthday party!

that evening the four year old requested macaroni and cheese and a hamburger.  he played with his new magna doodle and we watched the lego movie that daddy picked up on his way home.   before falling asleep jack,  you told me your favorite part of the day was coming home and having cake.

thank you for reminding me daily that it’s the little things that mean the most.

love you birthday boy!

xxoo
