happy birthday to papaw…

last year we surprised papaw with balloons and a birthday cake for his birthday. we remembered how much he loved those balloons so this year after celebrating his birthday at mass we decided we could still send him balloons….

jack was a little hesitant at first. but he decided he wanted to draw a picture on his balloon before he sent it. i have to say i haven’t seen the boy so excited to see the balloons disappear. he kept running outside to check on them. the last time he came inside the house he had a smile from ear to ear and asked “do you think everyone in heaven is trying to catch those balloons?”

we enjoyed making it a special day here. we miss him so much!

eternal rest grant unto him oh lord and let your perpetual light shine upon him.

may the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of god rest in peace. amen.

christmas day 2015

what a treat christmas day was this year, jack and samuel you had quite the surprise waiting for you under nana’s christmas tree

we headed off to the park and spent the afternoon playing with your new toys!

it was so crazy how warm the weather was this christmas. jack you were a pro on your bike and loved going so fast! samuel you were still a bit nervous and preferred racing daddy by foot.

we headed back to the house and enjoyed a wonderful lunch together.

anna kate you can really steal a show with your smiles… nana made you your very own blanket for christmas. you clearly loved it!

it was good to be together again and we feel so blessed that albie’s job allowed him to be home for the holidays…

of course this year was the first christmas with anna kate in our arms. last year, the best christmas gift to me, was papaw wiping a tear from his eye when we surprised them with the news of grand-baby number three for them. i will never forget that. this year was very hard without him there with us… but we take comfort in knowing how proud he is of us for still getting together, eating all the yummy treats, spoiling these little babies and honoring the ONE who has blessed us all and given us the graces to get through this year…

it was a very warm christmas this year… and of course very loud. here’s our christmas, best told in pictures… and a few minor details 😉

christmas eve afternoon we did some christmas carolin’ …

after the food was all prepared we stopped to watch the kids perform the nativity… this year all three kids were able to take part 🙂

before everyone parted ways we gathered together to sing happy birthday to sweet baby jesus and each child said thank you to Him in their own special way…

we look forward to it all year and it goes by so fast. i am so thankful for the memories our babies are getting to make with their cousins. we are already looking forward to next year’s christmas.

oh brother…

jack anthony, as bossy as you can get being the biggest brother, your love for samuel is unreal. you are samuel’s translator most of the time and half the time you are wrong. samuel fulton, we could listen to you talk all day even when no one can understand you. you guys are so much fun to watch together. you two are competitive and you know how to make us laugh. you look out for one another and always want to make sure no one is left out. your favorite things to play together right now are restaurant {“texans cafe” to be exact}, building forts for your stuffed animals, building legos, blocks and lincoln logs. your favorite cartoons are peppa pig, paw patrol and most recently mutt and stuff. your taste buds are as opposite as your looks but you share a mad love for candy. you also share a mad love for your sister. some days can be quite the challenge with you guys but i would do each and every rough day all over again because … well, just look at you guys….

we pray every night that you only grow closer to jesus and stay close with one another. we love you boys.

oh my goodness i love you babies… we have been having lots of fun learning new games both indoors and outdoors. the cooler weather has been so nice, especially now that this place feels more like home! we have officially been here for one year! never in my wildest dreams did i picture an extra little one to snuggle up with in this house THIS year but here you are anna kate. we cant even remember what life was like before you! we love the joy you bring to us each new day!

trick or treat 2015

scary face pancakes to start a fun day…

this year we are in a new neighborhood so we had a new way of trick or treating. hay ride style! one of daddy’s friends invited us to join them for the evening. you guys had a blast and are already looking forward to next year!

that night mama felt like a kid again. we made a pallet and watched aladdin! i think i had a little too much fun singing along 😉

jack, we had a blast for your fifth birthday!

jack anthony, at five years old, you are the best big brother that samuel and anna kate could ask for. we are blessed to have you at home for one more year of full time playing. 🙂 you and samuel are best buds and anna kate can count on endless kisses and snuggles from you. you love all things avengers, all things football (especially houston texans and texas longhorns) you also love all things racing cars. you ask daddy to play football as soon as he gets home. you are notorious for asking for a snack or something to drink. we tease you that you are the puppy on 101 dalmations… “but mama i’m hungry” 🙂 you started a gym class this fall and i’m loving watching you try new things and test your strength. you love creating forts. you love your stuffed animals. you still love your thumb. your favorite cartoons are peppa pig and paw patrol. you have decided you are a texas longhorn. you have a huge heart and determination that grows every day.

you are a really awesome kid.
