January 4, 2015celebrations, cousins, kids, sisters, vacation

christmas and new years break has come and gone so fast,  as always.  boy did we soak up every day and create such great memories.   we spent the last weekend of advent preparing goodies and getting all packed before our trip out to bc.

daddy even ran out and got us one of the last trees in town.    it was perfect!

DSC_0861

sunday we headed out to bc and met all of our cousins there.   the power wheels gave gramps’ yard another treatment for the winter 🙂

christmas eve mass came and many little children fell asleep 🙂  it was a silent night after all.   when we got back home they were ready for a christmas celebration like no other 🙂

sweet emily was even so excited, she shared quite a few smiles that night.

our family pictures are getting a little crazy.   not everyone is always happy and not everyone looks at the camera.   but they are all so darn cute!   i think the outtakes are the best to remember …

emily grace’s very first christmas!  it has been so long since we had a little girl in this family.   we had to get a picture of granny’s girls ( – camryn and taylor)  to remember this…

the kids gave us all a gift to remember!  they performed the nativity for us.  complete with scenes from the visitation of mary to her cousin elizabeth.   little elizabeth was beyond excited to hear the news!

{we may have a little actress on our hands}

DSC_0120

our parents made our christmas complete by giving us the first gift….our very own copy of the texas monthly celebrating george strait.  no ads, just george.  they spoil their girls!  oh we still can’t help but smile we when think of our magazine!

IMG_2550

after all that excitement 🙂   we let the kids take turns opening their presents!   as tradition goes… emily went first 🙂

we learned some gifts were not what we thought they were.   it’s okay we created the best memories over having the longest laughs.

christmas morning we sang happy birthday to our sweet jesus and enjoyed all the toys santa clause brought….

DSC_0396

we were so excited to have them visit and see our new home!

DSC_0399

loved having so many loved ones here!   right before new years  kindle’s family surprised us by staying three nights with us… they along with dana’s family helped ring in the new year with us…   it was so perfect!

cousins?

August 7, 2014celebrations, sisters, vacation

nah, more like best friends 🙂

CSC_0590

my sister came home for a few weeks and we celebrated the whole time! i can’t imagine the memories that were made for these little guys these past few weeks.   gramp’s yard took a beating but i think it was totally worth it.  if you’re looking for a story about our non-stop three weeks, well it is, as always, best told in pictures…

can you tell i just wanted to capture their whole visit?  these kids were inseparable and that was my absolute favorite part of holly’s visit.   how blessed are we that basically eight kids under the age of eleven were completely happy for  three weeks straight.  so sad that this means another summer is coming closer to an end but as always we can’t wait to see what next summer has in store for us!!

we miss our cousins already!

a little get away never hurt anyone…

December 31, 2013celebrations, vacation

well don’t ask sam that.  he had issues with me when we returned.  our trip to fredericksburg for our fifth anniversary was such a treat!  we joked about how  we might have to write notes down to keep the conversation going.  we didn’t realize how much we could talk with out getting interrupted!

it was great to stop for many different types of bbq along the way.  we got to walk downtown in the afternoon before it got too busy.  daddy let me do a little shopping, mainly window. 🙂  we enjoyed a quiet dinner and christmas lights in town.   before we left the next day we stopped by  to visit colleen and jacob.  such a nice treat!  thank you to gramps and granny for keeping the boys and to my aunt colleen for finding this cute little place.

thanksgiving 2013

December 11, 2013celebrations, kids, vacation

missouri style. it was a first for us.  traveling on a holiday and traveling with  t w o  kids on an airplane.  luckily we have great travelers…   we spent thanksgiving at aunt kindles.  it was so wonderful!  she picked us up at the airport, brought us to her house and continued to make her whole spread of thanksgiving day goodies.   yum!  we stayed till the following Monday, which gave us plenty of time to visit, enjoy our babies, a very cold fightin’ texas aggie football game and even some shopping 🙂   we obviously were enjoying our time.  i barely pulled my camera out.

IMG_5744

IMG_5745

yes we traveled “double leash” style.  it worked for us.  they loved it.  jack, you even held your own “tail”  as you called it.

oh such yummy food!  samuel this was your first thanksgiving to really partake in all the goodness.  you couldn’t believe all that was before your eyes.  you really just liked throwing it around.  but you were a big fan of the sweet potato crunch.  good taste buds my man.

IMG_5759

first time black Friday shopping with the sister. i must say,  i did an excellent job holding a spot for her in line. oh such good times!

IMG_5767

oh how we all enjoyed our time with jude!  he entertains us all.

“i think i might have found me my own kind of paradise …”

August 6, 2013kids, vacation

well after about 700 + pictures i think we narrowed it down to the following…

i don’t even know how to describe this past week.  we looked forward to it for so long.  so much anticipation of our whole family squeezed in a beach house for a solid week.  it was perfect.

DSC_1200

DSC_1192

samuel you ate lots of sand.  slept  a l o t  of the time due to so much activity going on around you as well as your  f o u r  top teeth coming in.   jack you had a blast the first day out in the sand.   you also enjoyed finding shells and putting them in buckets.  i loved seeing all of my siblings,    a l l   at the same time!

DSC_1209

DSC_1214

DSC_1318

i was also so happy that my aunt and two of my cousins were able to make it as well!  it was so perfect!

DSC_1218

from the baby girl of the family to the big girls ….  there were nothing but smiles!

 the lifeguards 😛

DSC_1237

almost every evening we had game night for both the adults and the kids, there were such great laughs in this house.

DSC_1247

DSC_1245

DSC_1244

and in the “later” evenings, we siblings got to have some great quality time together.

DSC_1261

DSC_1268

every morning the sun seemed brighter and brighter,  it woke up the babies, the kids, and then all that noise woke up us parents 🙂   gramps would make eggs, we’d have some coffee and laugh about the night before, then it was time to lather up and head out to the beach!

kindle and i couldn’t get enough pictures.  it was so addicting with the adorable kids and the beautiful setting.   i’m still waiting for her to send some over 😛

DSC_0155

oh samuel,  this was probably your only time out near the water.  daddy came in the night before.  you were so happy to see him that morning.   you two share something special.  i knew i had to get these pictures of your almost not so gummy smile anymore.

the two things we always say about you.

that hair!

those eyes!

DSC_0160

your favorite part of each day besides being held by me,  or your teething tablets from kindle…  the kitchen sink baths.

DSC_1240

DSC_0084

ohh my emma boo.  you and granny have some good stories.  i wont share on here. 🙂   let’s just say we had some great times!

DSC_0085

DSC_0080

my little man jack.  this was probably the last chance you gave the beach.   you really did love it.  and you loved spending time with your cousins on the beach too,  especially miss sydney and her musicals.

IMG_3006

but after a few morning visits from the blue angels,  you were petrified of seeing or hearing a plane outside.  we couldn’t get you outside for anything.   joshua was your little protector, at one point i tried to get you to come out onto the balcony, when i opened the door joshua ran to me and said…

“no no don’t let jat come outide!  there is a TITE  wif an AIRPLANE on it!”

oh. my.

DSC_0038

DSC_0113

we got a kick out of sydney.  she is always in her own princess world.  one morning i noticed she was out playing with uncle mike.   it might have been the cutest thing i had ever seen…

DSC_0015

DSC_0021

i have to say having tween and teen nieces and nephews is almost more fun than the babies.  they were so much fun to hang out with and always so so helpful with our babies!!  i love them.  the despicable me minions were the theme of the week.  the littlest ones were known to get a hold of every phone and/or ipad that gramps and granny would let them have to play minion rush. so we had our own game going with the teens called “hide the minion”  we had two mcdonalds minion characters that would be hidden in random spots of the house to make you laugh.  if you found it you would hide it some where else.

cousin jude was entertainment for all.  he’s all smiles and giggles but can sure stand his ground.  it was so funny to watch his every move.   samuel this was one of your very few chances not in my arms.  you couldn’t see me, so you were okay.  🙂

another memorable night,  our girls in the family started a tradition at christmas to clap after each gift that is opened.  they decided to take it to the beach with an extra loud applause to anyone who walked out to the balcony one night after dinner.  they sure had a good laugh when granny surprised them with a grand entrance…

this balcony held some great memories from beginning to end.  we really did share some good times.  we laughed, we cried and then we laughed some more 🙂  there is nothing like family, and this week i realized there is nothing like my family and i am so blessed to be apart of it.  we are all blessed.  i hope it doesn’t take too long before we get to do something like this again.  but from now until then, i hope to create more memories for my own little family.  because that’s where it all begins.
