the happiness that  t w o  boys could bring me…

jack, you have become a bit obsessed with trains lately.  “sing the thomas song mama!”  is what i hear requested at least 10 times in one day.  to say it is your favorite song is probably an understatement.   you take the toy trains you have and push them around the grout of the tile in our house.  you also have informed me that the stitching on our couch is also a train track…

 you love.  love.  love.  to sing.   you always ask ” hey whats that you singing?”    you try to interpret noises you hear too.  that is the funniest.  when you ask us questions you usually respond with “oh yeah i like that too”  it might be my favorite response ever.

you have amazing bed head.  it must be all that sleep you get and you know i’ve always loved how you love to sleep.   you are working on saying “excuse me, mama”  instead of “hey mama, hey mama, mama, mama, hey mama….. ”   it drives me insane but at the same time i find it really comical.  you are  s t i l l  a thumb sucker and a hair twirler.    i’ve been really lazy at slowing that habit down.   part of me thinks  i am correcting you enough through out our day, do i really need to try another?!

you are the best big brother anyone could ask for.   you get so excited when sam wakes up and you come and check on him when he is asleep.

it is a blast to watch you guys interact more and more.

samuel, you are on the move and getting faster and faster.  we are almost into month eight.  i know i’ll write up a post then.  but for now, i just want to mention you have got some personality!   you found your cry.  i think it’s because our extended family poked fun of how quiet your cry was.   oh well, you fixed that 🙂  it’s okay, it just has us tending to you a little quicker now that we hear you loud and clear.  you love to be held  and i love to hold you.  (you aren’t quite as heavy as jack was at this age).

you’ve got the best hair  e v e r .  with two strands that are extremely long.   you are smiling a sniffy smile.  we can’t get enough of it.  my absolute favorite thing you do right now is give kisses.  you give the biggest stare and hum your way into a kiss.  it makes my heart completely melt over and over and over again.

and last but not least,  im treasuring the last of your gummy smiles!  those top teeth are so close to coming through!

yep i have two mama’s boys… and i wouldn’t trade a thing!

i feel like it was literally just yesterday i was carefully writing up jack’s seven month update.   i think i titled it “seventh heaven”  yep  its the same with you sweet samuel.   my goodness i can’t get enough of you.  no one can.

or shall we call you popeye?!  ha!  your sniffy smiles make you have some silly faces sometimes.   i think you are working on those top

F O U R teeth right now.   insane.  you just got the bottom two through last month and now bam.  time to move on to the next ones.

at seven months you are sitting up full time.  you are also making your way across the room.  inch worm style and so stinkin’ cute!  you love getting into whatever jack has.  you also have an obsession for computers, phones and anything that is  n o t  a toy.

your eyes make everyone melt.  all the time.  you are usually quiet natured, unless it is quiet, then you like to hear your voice.  you are determined.  daddy mentioned tonight how you really never give up with a fuss.  you just keep trying.  you still love to be held a lot.  but that’s okay i do love to hold you 🙂  you are getting a lot better at sleeping through the night. you get up about 2-3 times and that i can live with 🙂 with you on the move  its getting busier here.  but a fun busy.  what a more perfect time than summer for  you to be on the move!   can’t wait to see all you do this next month!   we love you so much sweet samuel!

two big events this past weekend.

1. my oldest niece graduated highschool!

  where did the time go?!  i feel like just yesterday she was jack’s age dancing in my room back home….

isn’t she beautiful?!?  just love her!

we spent friday evening celebrating at her home with family and friends and on saturday we cheered as she walked across the stage.

these kids love the camera… ha!

oh my and now for the other event that happened on this weekend…

2. i had a birthday.  one where i turned…

my family sure is sweet…

 

it sure was a special one though.  i was able to spend it with almost all of my siblings!

the next night daddy surprised me with an amazing dinner.   it was pizza sent straight from chicago!   i came home from the gym and heard the sound of italian music in the house and then i see this….

i am the luckiest.

and you my sweet boys will learn from the best!

that was the number one question asked the entire car ride by no other than mr. jack.

last weekend we went out for a little vacation with nana, papaw and uncle albie.

we spent friday evening in kemah on the boardwalk and saturday we headed out to galveston to go to moody gardens.

it was such a treat!

 

you two boys were all smiles as you were spoiled like crazy!

 

 jack, you had a blast as always feeding and chasing the birds!

 

you took a break to hide from all the loud noises of the rides.   not quite ready for all that excitement yet.

 

you slowly warmed up that evening, as you waited to ride an airplane ride you were just the right size for!

 

look at that big boy fly his plane!   you loved retelling the story of how you got to sit in the front and nana sat in the back.

  such a good papaw, holding all the goodies 😉

 oh samuel, you sure took in all the sights and sounds.  you did so wonderful!   i couldn’t stop taking pictures of you.  i’ll spare you all the pictures i have of you trying to drink daddy’s drink.  you were a little obsessed.  we will just say it was your teething. 🙂

you boys slept pretty well in the hotel.  sam it was your first one!!  i’d say you had fun.

we are really going to start working on taking more pictures together.  i had quite a good laugh at the attempt of pictures we tried to get, especially our family one. no worries i’m still including them in this post.

 

 

  samuel, you were such a trooper as always.  you just wanted to sit up on your own, nurse and sleep.  oh and yes eat your feet.

 it was a really great trip!  the boys got spoiled a little more than normal and it was great time to be out with family.

yes way.  how can it be sweet boy?! we are half way through your first year here!

and i know every month i can’t believe how fast time is flying and how much you are doing!

this months theme –  t e e t h

which is why you are sporting this necklace which makes us seem like real hippies.  as if nursing, cloth diapers and baby wearing wasn’t enough.  mama had to go and add some natural teething necklace to your ensemble.  and no you don’t chew on them.  i have to tell everyone who hears about them, it’s natural oils that help with the inflammation of your gums… yada… yada.  honestly, i really don’t know much about them, except i was desperate for something to help relieve your pain.  your teething the last week and a half was way worse than i remember brother jacks being and i have to say within the second day of wearing these magic amber beads, we were finally getting some sleep in our   o w n  beds.  so this mama is sold on them for now.  i think they are kinda cute on you too.  you look like a beach bum with your blonde hair, blue eyes and beady necklace…

you are in the first stages of sitting up.  it’s all you want to do.  you look and feel like you can do it on your own.  however,  you will roll over, forward or back pretty quickly…

ohh but how precious you continue to be!  you still love being held all the time or even just laid next to.    you attack everything near you with outstretched arms, including your brother.  you are rolling over quite a bit but not continuously.  you get around to your toys by reaching like crazy.  it eventually turns into a scoot.

you are a really happy baby.   how did we get so lucky?  your sleeping pattern hasn’t really been sticking because of these exciting new teeth.  it is getting better though.  you just need a few cuddles in the middle of the night but you love sleeping-in in the mornings.  you are taking about three naps a day now.   you love to eat and i really think you want to eat our food.  i just started feeding you some oatmeal cereal for now and occasionally some bananas.   i think this month i will just be feeding you whatever we can mash on our menu.  it is so fun to see how excited you get when you sit with us and eat.  you are like a baby bird.   so adorable!

i was talking the other day about how this is the month where everything just changes over night.  here i think you are still my new tiny baby i can leave on a blanket on the floor and all of the sudden now i look back at that blanket and you have made your way onto the carpet reaching for a toy!  it just happens like that!

gummy smiles last month will soon be replaced this month with two tiny bottom teeth!

it is simply crazy to believe we are half way through your first year.  we couldn’t be more in love with you if we tried.

we love you to the moon and back sweet samuel!
