this year, as scott hahn put it, we are having to give up pope benedict xvi for lent.

last week we watched his last day as pope.   what a day to remember.  i had to grab my camera to remind myself of what my day was like  and of course to remember how little you were samuel.   jack, you were watching cars 2 in our room.  🙂  you would occasionally come out to ask where the ‘clowns’  were (the guards).

i think joshua is going to start some sports this summer too!  so we will be sure to go out and cheer him on!   it wont be long before your sports seasons will start!

although as tiny as you two are, you almost seemed more chatty than your mama’s were.

jack – you look like a giant to these two.  you were just excited to see  “two babies!”

little cowboys first cook off!

wow. you boys keep me busy!  i have a long list of things i need to get done around the house.  if i ever get them completed i’m really looking forward to getting samuel’s   f i r s t  year scrapbook  started.  i  promise i will sweet boy!   i have too many family members asking where it is.. in comparison to jack’s rather large one on the coffee table. 🙂     truth is,  im so grateful i can quickly stay up to date with writing our adventures on here.   like our fun weekend we just had!  it was our first trip to take you guys to the rodeo cook off!

ohh how excited i was to dress you two up!   i didn’t get to put your pearl snap on you samuel, it was just too warm for that.   i will have to come back and share a picture of it.  so. darn. cute.

jack you did not seem impressed at all.  i think part of it was the fact it was your nap time so the long drive over there had you in a daze for the most part.  you just soaked it all in with those sweet big eyes.  you enjoyed some chips, cotton candy and your first  t w o carnival rides ever.   honestly, they were mama’s first rodeo rides ever too.   i think you are a little too spoiled.

samuel you enjoyed being carried, taking in the sights and sounds and then a nap in the stroller.  you were so excited the last hour we were there, we sat in daddy’s company’s tent and you just stared at me and smiled the whole time, like “oh there’s my mama!”

jack, you confirmed our thoughts during our trip to the car.  we don’t have to entertain you with the big exciting things to do! the biggest smile and laugh we got out of you was when daddy pretended to hit the caution cones on our way to the car.  all the candy, rides and sites { paid for } didn’t do much for you. it was just heading to the car with a silly daddy { for free } that you seemed to enjoy the most.

that night daddy went out of town for the night to say goodbye to his bestfriend who will be moving out of state in a few weeks.   you were more than excited to be woken up from your nap by your cousins who came to stay the night with us!

overall it was a really great weekend!  we will go back to the rodeo next week to see the animals!  i promise they will be there jack 🙂

jack, you are seriously on a movie {addict} kick.  really everything.   e v e r y t h i n g.  cars related.    however,  we recently started watching “horton hears a who.”  i really think it may be my favorite.  i’m kind of partial to one of the characters named ‘katie.’    we all laugh because you will occasionally imitate her character and say “mama katie too ‘ahhhhh'”

oh my samuel.  in this short  t h r e e  months we can’t imagine our lives without you.   you are such a trooper putting up with a rambunctious  two year old brother.  you go with the flow for the most part but there is no joking around when you are hungry.  you can see here, you are putting on the pounds like it’s going out of style.

forgive your mother if you randomly see flashes or hear the camera snaps throughout your first year of life.  i  simply  cannot  get  enough  of  you.  this  t h r e e  months  is such a fun age because you can’t get away from me yet and you just provide the sweetest smiles and coos for this crazy mama.

at  t h r e e  months i couldn’t ask for a better night schedule.  so please don’t change it. 🙂  you go to bed at around 930 and wake up close to 5 and want to sleep till about 8 or 9.    jack comes in to ask if you are awake and you just rub your eyes and try to snuggle close to me like you are saying “com’on man!”  i’m  a little nervous how short this phase could last.  both of you may team up on me soon enough.

i have to add we have been using some new cloth diapers.  im really in love with them.  no stuffing required. and they work wonders with you.  you look mighty cute in them as well.

you are rolling over from tummy to back occasionally these days.  we aren’t too sure if its on purpose but boy you are a sport on your tummy.  you love talking to your little friends.  you have a lot to say.

  this week we made it to daddy’s new office.   well new to us.  now we know what it looks like inside, so it doesn’t seem so far away and foreign.  well it still seems far away but we know we can make it there and back 🙂

catching pictures of you two guys is nearly impossible for this amateur photographer.  it’s always worth a try but never a guarantee.  this mama needs more practice that’s for sure.
